"Tyson says that workers will not be able to travel to Mexico or their home countries in December and nobody will get a vacation" - an Arkansas poultry processing worker
Eons ago it started with egg farming. Seriously, Arkansas was known for it’s eggs, oh, and it’s rice. The time came when poultry was viewed as the healthy meat, eggs were given a bad rap over cholesterol. Fast forward 46 years later and I am wont to ask, “Which came first, the egg, or the chicken?”
I would love to write about chicken nuggets because the favorite food of children is basically a mix of chicken blood & bones, skin, and breasts that flow through a river of butter & then get fried.
Go after Tyson’s unfair labor practices, the treatment of their workers. My earlier comment referenced the old days of Tyson. They’ve always been jaded. When poultry farming for meat hit center stage they were noted for their cramped chicken conditions and Frankenstein food hormones used to fatten up chicken for turnaround sales. Deformities aside, it’s time for this story to hit center stage. You go, girl!
Thanks for sharing this story. Tyson's actions are disgusting and not surprising. Here in Iowa we see the same practices by meat packing plants.
Yes, I have heard from reporters in other states that Tyson and other companies are taking similar actions.
As with every issue you report on, thank you for your commitment to this story. You are the best of this industry.
Thank you, quietly following this story out because despite the COVID vaccine, COVID related issues continue to affect workers.

Crazy!
Great work, Alice!

Yes, my focus has always been on the workers!
Yep! You’re doing a great job, too! 👍❤️
