I met Fernanda Santos the way I have met most of my writer friends - because I loved reading her work. At the time, she was at The New York Times, and I followed her on Twitter. Fernanda is from Brazil and writes with compassion and humanity in multiple languages. Last year, she invited me to give a talk at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism. Fernanda is the editorial director at Futuro Media, she is working on a memoir, and she sends out a wonderful newsletter By Fernanda Santos. Fernanda reached out to me to discuss the book-writing process. Here is our conversation. Enjoy!
